About Us

Avon Cattery (formerly know as Avon Kennels) is located just outside of Somerdale, Ohio, on a small, family-operated 16-acre farm with lots of room for our pet kids to run and play. Breeding is a lifelong passion for us. We believe our pets are a part of our family and treat them as such.

Our breeding program began in 2000 with Rottweilers, inspired by my grandparents who owned and bred them for years. In 2007, we expanded our family to include Labrador Retrievers. Due to the challenging adoption process for the breed, we made the difficult decision to retire our Rottweilers in 2017. We later welcomed French Bulldogs to our program in 2021. Recently, we made the decision to officially retire all of our dogs from breeding to focus exclusively on our feline programs.

We first added Himalayan cats and kittens to our family in 2016. Today, we proudly focus all of our energy on breeding only CFA-registered Persian, Himalayan, and Exotic Shorthair cats.

Our kittens are raised as a part of our family with daily socialization with adults and children. We breed for health, temperament, and conformation, prioritizing quality over quantity. All of our females are bred with careful consideration, and we do not believe in over-breeding. For this reason, we have a limited number of litters per year and strongly suggest you reserve your kitten in advance to ensure a placement from the litter of your choice.
